She made a promise...

A second chance she did get...

Time went by...

Smug we were in our belief that the tide had turned...till another wave of anguish descended on Ghar...with her yet again centrestage of another grave wrong...

Nothing had changed...she was as she was....

Convinced we were that she needed to be taken in by her Bhua...living in a small family would expose her to the world she had never known...and change her for the better...worried we were of the negative impact her conduct would have on young fertile minds...

As the story unfurled before her very angry Bhua, tears streamed down her cheeks...her last bastion...her Bhua...had seen through her...

We stood our ground...but unanticipatedly...in her incessant sobbing we saw a helpless child...a child who had missed out on the love of a family...the love she pined for...but which eluded her...and possibly made her what she had become...

In a moment things fell into place...she was just a victim of unfortunate circumstances...may be a different she resided in her...a she that needed to be trusted and loved... 

She sobbed incessantly as we held her in our arms...and...she made a promise...

A promise she made to change herself...and to never betray the trust we reposed in her...

A happy teen she is now...the lies have all but gone...and she does care...

She did keep the promise she had made...
